Solar Totem

Solar Totem™, a biaxial tracker developed in collaboration with ESP, is a concentrate of engineering and technology which ensure maximum possible output, up to 40% more than fixed plants.
Designed for the large solar fields market, the Solar Totem™ works by using a simple structure which combines dimensional flexibility with freedom of movement on two axis, making it possible to optimise the price/power ratio. Easy assembly and minimal environmental impact make Solar Totem™ a unique product in the field of biaxial trackers.

Exclusive Advantages
  • There is a high power/surface area ratio (installation density greater than 50 Wp/m2), which is a major benefit in more powerful plants as less surface area is required.
  • There is no need for digging or earthworks thanks to reinforced concrete bearing piles.
  • Administrative procedures are simplified thanks to approval by ARPA (Regional Environmental Protection Agency) by virtue of the lack of interference with subsoil water.
  • Panel surfaces are self-cleaning thanks to east-west movement.
  • Construction times are rapid thanks to the possibility of working simultaneously on site for pile installation and in the workshop for tracker assembly.
Technical characteristics

The bearing part of the structure consists of electro-welded hot-dip galvanised steel tubular girders (FE 430). The surface is rotated from a horizontal position by two hinges with rotation axis coplanar to the surface, reducing the stress on the centre bearing. The bifurcation makes it possible to reduce the overall mass of the structure, distributing loads largely produced by wind action. Each module is easy to transport and the panels can be assembled directly in the workshop, thereby simplifying the assembly procedure for the structure on site.
